A 19-year-old Ripon man was hospitalized Wednesday night after allegedly leading officers on a more than 10-mile pursuit that ended in a crash.
Ripon police attempted to pull over the man for reckless driving near Jack Tone Road and Santos Avenue just before midnight.
The suspect failed to yield, and officers followed him north on Jack Tone, then east on Highway 120.
As the suspect entered Escalon, he lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a brick pillar. No other vehicles were involved in this collision, and Ripon and Escalon police officers immediately detained the felony suspect.

Due to injuries the suspect suffered in the collision, he was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Ripon detectives will forward felony charges against the suspect to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office for review. Ripon police did not release the suspect’s name.
