A 25-year-old man wanted in connection with a weekend shooting in Oakdale turned himself in at the Modesto Police Department on Tuesday afternoon.
Jorge Villegas of Oakdale is suspected of shooting a man in the 100 block of South Sixth Street near the 7-Eleven on F Street just after midnight Saturday, according to Oakdale police officer Aaron Beatty.
The victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and has since been released from the hospital.
Villegas allegedly fled the scene after the shooting and was seen by an officer going into a home in the 800 block of East H Street, Beatty said.

Oakdale officers surrounded the home and established a perimeter; the Stanislaus County Sheriff Department’s SWAT team responded to assist.
After an 11-hour standoff, SWAT entered the home and did not find the suspect.
Villegas turned himself in Tuesday and is being held on $500,000 bail on suspicion of attempted murder and brandishing a firearm.
