A 24-year-old Oakdale man on Wednesday pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento.
Federal prosecutors said Kevin Ray Adams received and distributed child porn images on the Internet from Aug. 3, 2012 through Feb. 9.
Adams has remained in custody since his arrest July 8, because the federal court determined he was a danger to the community and a risk of leaving the area to avoid prosecution.
The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8. He faces five to 20 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine and supervised release for the rest of his life.
This case is the result of an investigation by the FBI with help from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Ceres Police departments.
