Attorney for Denair teen accused of killing dad needs more time

The case of Shanna Wills, the 17-year-old Denair girl accused of stabbing her father to death and assaulting her mother, will return to Stanislaus County Superior Court on July 28.

On Monday, Stanislaus County Senior Public Defender Greg Spiering asked Judge John D. Freeland for more time to review recently received evidence.

Manacled and wearing an orange jump suit during her appearance, the diminutive defendant has pleaded not guilty in the death of her father, Kenneth Willis, 62, and seriously injuring her mother, Susan Wills, 61, on May 8.
