A fire that was intentionally set burned a vacant house late Monday in south Modesto, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.
The fire occurred shortly after 11 p.m. at the single-story home in the 600 block of Imperial Avenue, a few blocks west of Crows Landing Road.
Battalion Chief Dan Hinshaw said the fire appeared to have started in the attached garage. He said the garage had been converted into a bedroom.
Firefighters found flames engulfing the home. They had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
