A fire that was intentionally set burned a vacant house late Monday in south Modesto, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.
The fire occurred shortly after 11 p.m. at the single-story home in the 600 block of Imperial Avenue, a few blocks west of Crows Landing Road.
Battalion Chief Dan Hinshaw said the fire appeared to have started in the attached garage. He said the garage had been converted into a bedroom.
Firefighters found flames engulfing the home. They had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
Investigators listed the cause as arson, and Hinshaw said this afternoon no arrests had been made.
The fire caused an estimated $125,000 damage to the home and its contents.
