Four injured in downtown Modesto crash

Four people suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon when their pickup struck a car and crashed onto a downtown Modesto sidewalk, landing on its side near a floral business, police said.

The gray Toyota pickup came to rest next to the wall facing the 13th Street side of Oopsa Daisy Florist, at 1230 H St. The pickup and a green Dodge were heading west on H Street approaching 13th Street at about 2:20 p.m., said police Sgt. Daniel Key.

The pickup was in the middle lane and the car was in the left lane, he said. The pickup veered into the left lane in front of the Dodge, he said. Key said the Dodge struck the pickup and the force of the impact caused the pickup to overturn before coming to rest on its passenger side.

The driver of the Dodge was not hurt, Key said. The Dodge driver did not have any passengers. Police did not cite anyone at the scene.
