Gang link to Modesto taco truck shooting investigated

Two people who were shot at a south Modesto taco truck Sunday night are expected to survive, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Authorities are looking for the man who fired the shots, and detectives are investigating the possibility that the incident was gang-related. "We do have quite a few gangs in this neighborhood," said deputy Royjindar Singh.

The man was shot in the abdomen; a bullet ricocheted and hit the woman, a bystander, in the foot, Singh said.
