A Modesto resident, Hilario Villa Sosa, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison on child molestation charges, Ceres police report.
Villa Sosa was scheduled to stand trial this year on 11 separate charges of child molestation, with a possible prison term in excess of 100 years, the Ceres Police Department posted on Facebook. But in a deal, the 41-year-old pleaded guilty to the offenses and was sentenced Oct. 6.
Police received a report Nov. 2, 2016, that Child Protective Services was investigating possible child molestation at a residence in the 2800 block of Fowler Road.
The two juvenile female victims were members of Villa Sosa's extended family. He was charged with committing sexual acts with a child under 10 years of age and continuous sexual abuse of a child, police said at the time of the arrest.
Villa Sosa was arrested by Ceres police detectives on Nov. 11 in Ripon, on his way to work in the Bay Area.
One victim reported that the abuse occurred regularly over a span of about nine years, with the last reported incident in 2014.
