A 26-year-old Modesto man with a previous drug conviction was sentenced to seven years and eight months in prison for possessing heroin and a loaded gun.
Richard Santos on Feb. 3 was convicted of possessing heroin for sale and being a felon in possession of a gun. He had been previously convicted of selling narcotics. Deputy District Attorney Tony Colacito prosecuted the case.
On February 4, 2014, Modesto police officers conducted a probation search a motel room. The officers found Santos with the loaded gun, heroin, needles and evidence of drug sales.
