Temperatures will be a little lower today as a cooling trend moves into the Northern San Joaquin Valley, forecasters say.
Modesto is expected to hit about 86 degrees Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Though temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees cooler than Wednesday, they are still 4 to 8 degrees above normal, which is the low 80s for this time of year.
Highs in the mid to upper 80s are expected to continue throughout the week, with overnight lows dropping into the upper 50s.
Next week is looking a bit cooler, with a slight chance of rain, forecasters say.
