Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze at a vacant home in south Modesto Monday morning.

According to authorities, firefighters were called to the house in the 1500 block of Placer Avenue at 7:16 a.m. When crews arrived, they found a large fire, with downed power liens in the back yard.

The fire was controlled within 15 minutes, according to a Modesto Fire Department news release. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Damages were estimated at $65,000.
