We are well into October, but it sure feels like July out there.
Another day of mid-90s temperatures is ahead for Modesto. But temperatures will start to drop off Tuesday, with highs closer to normal for this time of year by Thursday, the National Weather Service says.
Today is expected to hit 93 in the northern San Joaquin Valley, followed by 90 on Tuesday and 87 on Wednesday. Overnight lows will drop down into the 50s, forecasters say. By Thursday, the high is expected to hit only 83, about normal for this time of year.
But the respite isn’t expected to last.
“The cool down will be brief as strong ridging is forecast to redevelop along the west coast by next weekend for more warmer temperatures,” the forecast says.
