Info: Seminar at the park will feature Dave Johnston, associate wildlife ecologist at H.T. Harvey & Associates and a board member of the North American Society for Bat Research. He has spent more than 20 years investigating impacts to bat populations from post-construction wind and solar energy projects, urbanization and transportation issues. After the lecture, Johnston will lead the group into the field to mist net and to observe bats in the wild. Day-use fee is $10. 50 YEARS AGO: Stanislaus County Superintendent Fred C. Beyer announced before a group of 40 district trustees and administrators that four school districts would conduct mergers as per the state master plan for Stanislaus County. The districts included Modesto, Turlock, Oakdale and the county’s West Side area.
