Clients of Cole Vocational Services are gaining experience in landscaping by planting and maintaining planters and tree wells along a three-block stretch of downtown Modesto. The adults with developmental disabilities will be working on the area on 11th Street between I and K streets. They started with the planter boxes outside the Stanislaus Literacy Center on I Street on Friday. About 17 people are participating. Orchard Supply Hardware delivered plants and flowers and stayed on hand to assist. The group intends to work on the blocks two days a week.
