All week, nightly work along Highway 99 will affect Stanislaus County drivers in a major way.
According to the California Department of Transportation, stretches of 99's center and right lanes in each direction will be closed from the San Joaquin County line to Taylor Road north of Turlock from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday. Onramps and offramps will be closed intermittently throughout the area.
Work on Monday concentrated on the stretch from Hatch Road in Ceres to Taylor.
Drivers should look for alternate routes, as delays of up to 30 minutes are expected. Although construction is scheduled to be wrapped up this weekend, traffic and weather could cause delays, Caltrans says.
