The three-year-old toddler critically injured in an Oakland car accident was taken off life support this morning, his grandfather said. The child became the fourth person to die from the wreck.

Jessie Woodson never regained consciousness or breathed on his own after the car accident, said Bill Terra, the boy’s grandfather.

The single-vehicle accident early Monday also killed Jessie’s identical twin Jason, the twins’ mother, 23-year-old Sara Terra, and their uncle, 20-year-old David Terra. Jessie Woodson was hospitalized at Oakland’s Children’s Hospital.

The driver, Tiffany Reynolds, 26, of Richmond, is in stable condition at Highland Hospital in Oakland. Reynolds was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, manslaughter, and driving on a suspended license, said CHP spokesman Sam Morgan.

The CHP said Reynolds was speeding about 1:30 a.m. Monday when she lost control of a 1990 Honda on Interstate 880 near Hegenberger Road. The vehicle veered across several lanes and hit a concrete wall, Morgan said. Reynolds sustained serious injuries, with a fractured spine and ribs.

Sara and David Terra were the adopted children of Bill and Louise Terra of Modesto. They will be buried in Modesto, as will the twins. Jessie and Jason will be buried in the same casket as their mother, said Terra.

A rosary is scheduled for Sunday afternoon and a mass is planned for Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Oakdale Road.
