WATERFORD - A Winton man died when a compact car he was riding in went off a rural road east of Waterford on Tuesday afternoon and crashed into an embankment before the vehicle flipped, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he died from his injuries.
Stanislaus County coroner officials were trying to find the man's family to verify his name and age. They believe the man is in his 20s.
Three other men from Winton riding in the car were injured and taken to Oak Valley Hospital in Oakdale. Mark Antonio, 20, and Saul Perez, 29, suffered minor injuries. Juan Moreno, 18, suffered moderate injuries.

Moreno was driving a 2000 Geo Metro south on Crabtree Road, just north of Highway 132 and east of Modesto Reservoir, when the accident occurred about 2:30 p.m., according to the CHP. There was no indication at the crash that drugs or alcohol was a factor.
