SONORA PD SEEKS SUSPECT: The Sonora Police Department is looking for Autumn Nicole Beck in connection with a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Beck, 18, has brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds. Police ask anyone with information about Beck's whereabouts to call 532-8141. Callers can remain anonymous.
TUOLUMNE FIRE BURNED 177 ACRES: Tuolumne County's Serpentine fire, on Highway 49 just north of Mariposa County, burned 177 acres of vegetation and caused $35,400 in damage, authorities reported Monday. The fire started July 26 and was contained by the night of July 28. The cause of the fire is undetermined, according to Lisa Williams from the Tuolumne- Calaveras Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. There were four minor injuries during the fire.
CRITICAL CONDITION FOR MODESTO DRIVER: A Modesto man driving about 100 mph crashed his car on Highway 99 on Sunday night, the California Highway Patrol reported. Adalbeto Labrado, 28, suffered major injuries in the wreck, which happened about 10:40 p.m. The CHP said he was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am north near Kansas Avenue in the slow lane when his car drifted into the center divide and hit the concrete rail. The car overturned and Labrado was ejected. Labrado was listed in critical condition Monday morning at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. The CHP said it suspects Labrado was under the influence of alcohol. A strong odor of alcohol was detected at the scene and at the hospital, the CHP news release said.
GROVELAND MAN DIES IN CRASH: A Groveland man died Saturday after crashing his all-terrain vehicle down a rocky ravine, the California Highway Patrol reported. Richard Dejong, 38, was riding his 2008 Yamaha on Grizzly Road north of Highway 120 when he was ejected from the four-wheeler. Dejong was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, a CHP news release stated. He was found at the bottom of the ravine by a family out for a walk about 8:40 p.m. It is believed he had crashed several hours before being discovered.

DRIVER HITS TREE, CHP SAYS: A 20-year-old Tuolumne County woman was hospitalized after hitting a tree Sunday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported. Megan Bunow of Mi-Wuk Village was driving a 2003 Ford Focus east on Highway 108, just west of Confidence Road, when she ran off the road and hit a tree just before 3 p.m. Bunow was taken by Medi-Flight to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. A hospital spokeswoman said Bunow was in fair condition Monday morning. The accident is under investigation. Alcohol may have been a factor, a CHP spokesman said.
