CERES SEEKS $60M FOR SCHOOLS: Ceres Unified School District trustees voted unanimously to place a $60 million school bond on the November ballot. The general obligation bond would fund construction and renovation of facilities at Ceres High School to improve the district's career technical education program. CHARTER SCHOOL DEDICATION SET: Stanislaus County's newest charter school is holding its grand opening Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. Great Valley Academy opens its inaugural school year this month to about 400 students in kindergarten through fourth grade.
