Info: View an assortment of cats and kittens; adoption fees vary. Volunteers will be available to help with your selection.
SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM COUPON DISTRIBUTION
When: Wednesday-Thursday, Aug. 9
Where: Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at Riverbank Market, Community Center Park, Santa Fe between Sixth and Seventh streets; Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Oakdale Market, 100 block of North Third Avenue between E and F streets; Aug. 9, 8-11 a.m. at downtown Modesto Farmers Market on 16th Street between H and I streets.
Info: The Area Agency on Aging has senior farmers market coupon booklets for people 60 and older who live in Stanislaus County and have a limited income -- $1,600 a month or less for an individual and $2,159 for a couple. First-come, first-served while supplies last. Each booklet contains $20 worth of coupons. They are used like cash only at certified farmers markets in Modesto, Riverbank and Oakdale to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables or herbs. Coupons must be redeemed by mid-November. Info: The local squadron of the Commemorative Air Force is hosting a tribute to the armed forces, past and present. There will be a dance contest and awards for the most original 1940s-era costumes. TOT TIME PROGRAM

Info: The Parks and Recreation Department is offering the Tot Time program for children ages 3 to 5 who are potty trained.
