"American Idol" runner-up Blake Lewis opened his set with a beatbox rap that featured him saying "Modesto" over and over.
"You're going to rock it, Modesto!"
he said, a robotic sound effect to his voice.
He said this was his final stop on a radio tour so he wanted to party it up. Backed by a single guitarist, Lewis launched into songs from his latest album, "Audio Day Dream," which he said was inspired by 1980s hits.

"I think the best pop was written in the '80s," he said.
The audience filled the intersection at H and 11th streets, with many in the crowd shooting video with their cell phones and cameras.
