CLINTON RALLY AT UOP: A student-organized campaign rally for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton will be held at the University of the Pacific in Stockton from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Presidents Room. The event is free and open to the public. Possible speakers include Ann Johnston, former Stockton City councilwoman and current candidate for mayor; Lucio Reyes, secretary-treasurer of Teamsters Local 601; and Courtney Lehmann, director of the Pacific Humanities Center at UOP. CLINTON SUPPORTERS: Yvonne Allen, Mary Barberis and Pat Paul will hold a debate house party for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton today from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Modesto. REPUBLICAN PARTY MEETING: The Republican Party of Stanislaus County Central Committee meets the first Monday of each month. The next meeting will be Monday at 6 p.m. at the Eichel Building, 118 W. Orangeburg Ave., Modesto. The guest speaker will be Catherine "Cat" Moy, executive director of Move America Forward, the largest grass-roots, nonprofit, troop support organization in the nation. Moy will be accompanied by Mary Pearson, the group's deputy director. They will give an oral and photographic presentation on their Christmas trip to bring cards and gifts to the troops in Iraq. A hosted reception will start at 6 p.m., and the program will be at 6:30.

A business meeting will follow at 7:30. The public is invited.

PRIMARY NIGHT PARTY: Stanislaus County Democrats will hold a Primary Night Party on Tuesday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Modesto Fitness and Racquet Club, 200 Norwegian Ave., Modesto. SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION HONORS LEGISLATORS: The California State Sheriffs' Association has named three area legislators to its list of Outstanding Assembly Members for 2007. Assemblyman Tom Berryhill, R-Modesto, Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian, R-Stockton, and Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani, D-Livingston, are now on the list, along with nine other Assembly members. In a press release, the group noted that those on the list had showed a commitment to public safety and law enforcement in their actions as legislators. Berryhill and Galgiani are in their first terms as Assembly members. Aghazarian is in his final two-year term.
