Norma Torres-Manriquez was named Riverbank's Citizen of the Year at the city's annual community awards dinner Saturday night.
Daisy Torres was named Youth of the Year, and County Bank was Business of the Year.
Torres-Manriquez is known for volunteering to train youngsters in native Mexican dances. She also raises money for band boosters, teaches catechism and is involved in several other social and civic programs.
With a 3.4 grade point average, Daisy still manages to be involved in leadership, volleyball, color guard and the folkloric dance team. She also is a religious education teacher at St. Frances of Rome Church and a sixth-grade camp counselor for Cardozo Middle School.
