Bee taps 3 to fill water district seats

This is the birthplace of California's irrigation districts, so we're well aware of their importance. That's why it's important to have competent people helping lead them. Huge college fair is Tuesday at MJC

Are you interested in learning more about what our state's top schools have to offer? If you're a student or parent, you'll want to be at Modesto Junior College on Tuesday, when representatives from 55 universities will attend MJC's Transfer Day and College Night.

Health fair today

The Beauty and Health Fair will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at César E. Chávez Park, 615 Sierra Drive. The event is focused on health issues affecting the community and will promote awareness and center on healthy lifestyles, nutrition, fitness, self-esteem, beauty tips, health screening referrals and education. Sponsored by the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department's Maddux Youth Center, among other groups, the fair will include demonstrations, music, a children's art show, a talent show and information booths. It's free and open to the public.
