Virginia corridor work moves along

Construction crews are making progress on the Virginia corridor that eventually will run through Modesto. On Thursday, the city recognized a gift from Alberta Bodes and her family. That gift was to help preserve the southern entrance of the corridor where Virginia Avenue intersects Griswold and Princeton avenues. A tree was planted in honor of Bodes. The Bodes family joins Modesto's five Rotary Clubs, Modesto Lions Club, Sylvan Improvement Club, Royal Robbins and the Modesto Garden Club as benefactors to the Virginia Corridor Project. When complete, the corridor for walkers, joggers and bicyclists will stretch between Needham Street and Bangs Avenue.
