DEMOCRATIC CLUB EVENT: Steve Westly, former California state controller and candidate for governor, will be the featured speaker Wednesday at a Democratic fund-raising event held by the West Side Committee of the Central Valley Democratic Club.
The committee, based in Patterson, represents the county's Democrats west of the San Joaquin River. The event will be at the Diablo Grande Winery and Resort clubhouse. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host bar and hors d'oeuvres. The dinner and program begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is $85 per person, $150 per couple or $600 for a table of eight.
