WOMAN SLASHED WITH KNIFE: A Turlock love triangle turned violent Monday when one woman stabbed another over a shared boyfriend, police reported. Police were called to the 400 block of Park Street about 1:30 a.m. Monday. Two women were arguing over their relationship with a man, who also was there, Sgt. Steve Williams said. One woman swung a steak knife at the other, slashing the victim's left hand, and threatened to kill her, Williams said. Lisa Gusman, 42, who also goes by the last name Alvarez, was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, both felonies.

MARKET ROBBED: Turlock police were called to Rogers Mini-Market on East Avenue in Turlock after a Monday night holdup. The clerk told police that a masked man entered the store and demanded money, Sgt. Steve Williams said. The suspect appeared to have a handgun in his waistband and threatened the clerk, Williams said. The robber was described as 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall with a slim build. He fled in a gold van, witnesses said. Anyone with information should call Turlock police at 668-5550.
