Election Connection

DUNBAR LIKES FARRACE: Outgoing Modesto City Councilman Bob Dunbar has a favorite in the four-way race to take his elected post this fall: attorney Robert Farrace. "He's a middle-of-the- roader," Dunbar said. "He's bright, he's articulate, and of the four choices, he certainly is way out in front." Dunbar's announcement this summer that he wouldn't seek another term prompted Farrace to enter the race. Farrace said he likes what Dunbar has done in office, and he wouldn't have challenged the incumbent. Dunbar beat one of Farrace's opponents, Dave Lopez, in 2003. The race apparently soured Dunbar's opinion of Lopez. A year ago, Dunbar was the only council member to vote against Lopez's appointment to the Modesto Golf Advisory Commission.
