The Modesto Fire and Police departments are inviting the public to attend memorial services Tuesday in remembrance of those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Ceremonies will take place at the 11 Modesto Fire Department stations, which will be open to the public at 9:45 a.m. for the observance of the attacks' sixth anniversary.
Battalion Chief Hugo Patino said the ceremony will start at 9:58 a.m., the same time the first World Trade Center tower was struck.
The ceremony will begin with the raising of the U.S. flag and the recitation of the pledge of allegiance.

Moments of silence will precede and follow the sounding of memorial bells, and the cere-mony will end with the playing of "Amazing Grace."
After the ceremony, there will be an open house at the fire stations, with refreshments.
