Modesto teen in critical condition after crash into Ceres home

A 16-year-old Modesto boy is in critical condition after the car he was riding in crashed into several parked vehicles then a house in Ceres Tuesday night.

Just before 11 p.m. the driver of a 2006 Dodge sedan traveling south of Musick Avenue at a high speed lost control and hit two parked cars on the east side of the road, according to Ceres Police Sgt. Greg Yotsuya.

The Dodge continued south, then crashed into a home at the corner of Musick and Woodworth Avenue and stopped in the back yard. No one was inside the home.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 16-year-old with a gaping chest wound lying on the ground next to the parked vehicles the Dodge hit, Yotsuya said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The teen’s brother, in his 20s, was found with a head injury at a nearby home. Yotsuya said it’s possible he was the driver.

Investigators are trying to determine whether he fled or left the left scene to get help. They are also investigating whether he was under the influence.
