GIRL SCOUTS HELP YOUNG FIRE VICTIMS
Troops in the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Vintage Grove Service Unit in northwest Modesto are collecting children’s hygiene kit items for families who have been displaced by house fires. The donated items will be assembled into kits and given to the local American Red Cross. Items sought include kids’ toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, washcloths, towels and bandages. The Scouts also are seeking kids’ blankets, coloring books and crayons, reading books and puzzles. Donations also may be dropped off at the Red Cross office at 1230 Sixth St. in downtown Modesto on April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.
