The Ceres Recreation Division is offering a Gym-Fit program for boys and girls ages 1 to 12 years old. The program is designed to enhance and stimulate early childhood development, hand-eye-foot coordination and loco-motor development through experience in basic gymnastics skills, including floor tumbling, beam, bars and trampoline.
The parent/tot sessions, for children 1 and 2 years old, include songs, movement games and beginning gymnastics. Parents and children work together with the help of the instructor.
In the kinder program, for ages 3 to 5, preschoolers are introduced to a more structured class environment with circle time and an obstacle course.
In elementary tumbling, 6- to 12-year-olds learn beginning and intermediate skills, focusing on technique and form.
The classes meet Monday afternoons in the fitness room of the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth St. They’re taught by Modesto-based Kid Time Fitness Company. New six-week sessions begin March 16.
