75 YEARS AGO: The city of Modesto asked the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors to join the city in further improvement and expansion projects at the Municipal Airport. The Civil Aeronautics Administration would pay for most of the improvements for current and future work. The county took no action on the request but asked the city to submit potential costs. The CAA project was $190,000, with more costs if the county were to join. Modesto had purchased 40 acres from L.L. Dennett for $300 per acre.
