LA GRANGE

What: Summer Craft Fair

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: La Grange IOOF Hall, 30018 Yosemite Blvd.

Info: Due to popular demand, the IOOF Hall is having a second Crafts Fair this summer. The event will showcase local art, jewelry, sewn creations and other goodies, with raffle prizes too. YESTERYEARS

40 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors planned to review the proposed budget for 1976-77 on July 22, in the Board of Supervisors chambers at the County Courthouse. The proposed budget was $88 million. The initial budget was $4.6 million more, $92.5 million but was reduced after a meeting with administrators and department heads, where the topic was 228 new positions being requested but only 40 being approved in the meeting.
