Lots of Fourth of July fun to be found across Modesto, Mother Lode regions

It’s time to get crackling.

Fireworks, parades and other celebrations are set to sizzle as the Modesto and Mother Lode regions join in the nation’s celebration of Independence Day. Here’s a quick rundown of Monday’s Fourth of July festivities to help you plan:

MODESTO: Parade and festival. Parade 9:30 a.m. from 10th and F streets to J Street, up 11th Street and back to I Street. Festival 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tenth Street Plaza.

TURLOCK: Fair, parade, fireworks. Street fair and market in Central Park 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parade down Main Street 10 a.m. Car show at Broadway and Market Street at 11:30 a.m. Fireworks at California State University, Stanislaus, with activities for children 7 p.m.,

OAKDALE: Woodward fireworks. Arrive early; park closes upon reaching capacity. Fireworks begin at sundown. Woodward Reservoir, 14528 26 Mile Road. $25 per carload. 209-525-6750.

RIPON: Celebration at Mistlin Park with festival and fireworks. Events begin at 5 p.m. 1201 W. River Road.

MANTECA: Fireworks over Big League Dreams sports park. Gates open at 7 p.m., fireworks at dusk. 1077 Milo Candini Drive. $2. 209-456-8600.

ATWATER: Run for Independence 7:30 a.m. Parade 9 a.m. at Foster’s Freeze on Winton Way, ends at Ralston Park. Festival at Ralston Park 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with entertainment 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fireworks at Castle Airport, with gates open at 6 p.m. for a concert by Max Yasgur’s Farm. Castle admission $5 per carload. 209-358- 2260.

GUSTINE: Parade, festival and fireworks. Parade 10:30 a.m. on Fifth Street to Henry Miller Park with festival until 3 p.m. Fireworks at Gustine High football field begin at dusk, gates open 6:30 p.m. 209-854-6975.

LIVINGSTON: Carnival, live music and fireworks 3 to 11 p.m. at Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave. Fireworks begin at dusk.

COLUMBIA: Columbia’s Glorious 4th of July Celebration begins with flag raising and black powder musket salute at 11 a.m. on Main Street. Parade noon on Main Street. Kids activities, contests and more follow. 209-536-1672.

MURPHYS: Ironstone Vineyards’ celebration with activities and live music. Gates open 2 p.m., fireworks begin at dusk. Adults $15, children 6-12 $5, children 5 and under free. 209-728-1251,

SAN ANDREAS: Concert and barbecue 5 to 6 p.m. for $15. Admission to concert is free, show begins 6:30 p.m.

MOKELUMNE HILL: Parade and celebration begins with a pancake breakfast at Town Hall 7:30 to 11 a.m. Parade 11 a.m. on Main Street with music and vendors.
