Turlock firefighters investigating fire that burned along Highway 99

TURLOCK -- Firefighters said today they are investigating a brush fire that burned about 6 acres along Highway 99 during the evening commute on Friday.

The high winds that day helped the fire spread, and firefighters called in a second alarm before putting out the blaze.

No one was hurt and no buildings were damaged, but the fire did an estimated $1,000 damage to trees.

The fire department asks anyone with information about the fires to call Investigator J. Bernard at 209-668-5580.
