It’s the last pumpkin push of the season, as families head out this weekend to enjoy fall activities before Halloween comes and goes.
Many were out Saturday, enjoying the great weather and selecting the perfect jack-o-lantern canvases while also taking advantage of harvest-related fun being offered at farms in the region.
At Dutch Hollow Farms – located at the corner of Oakdale and Claribel roads on the Modesto/Riverbank border – folks turned out to enjoy the many activities available, from hayrides, and farm animals to corn mazes and even a kiddie zip line.
The farm also boasts pumpkins aplenty, whether for carving or grabbing up for Thanksgiving decor before the harvest theme leaves the region and Christmas trees and events move in.
Dutch Hollow, dutchhollowfarms.com, is just one of several large farms in the region that has activities through Halloween. Three others boast not just harvest fare, but plenty of spooky – some downright scary – delights as well: Dell’Osso Farm in Lathrop, pumpkinmaze.com; Fantozzi Farms in Patterson, fantozzifarms.com; and R.A.M. Farms in Turlock, ramfarms.com.
