By Jackie Lam MONEY RESEARCH COLLECTIVE
Finding the right job candidate today can feel like a Herculean task. According to recent research by Mercer, nearly half of employers (47%) say that the labor shortage is a significant problem. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of job openings in the U.S, as of the end of February 2022, was a staggering 11.3 million.
Whether you’re seeking applicants for entry-level positions in your startup or executives for a large corporation, recruiting the best candidates requires a significant investment of time and resources. But which job search engine is right for you? When you’re determining which platform to use, the cost, the size and depth of the talent pool, and the availability of a mobile app should all be factors in your decision.
We analyzed the market and chose the seven best job posting sites for employers based on these factors and more. Have some roles to fill at your company? Read on to find the best job posting sites if you’re on the hunt for top talent.

Best Job Posting Sites Reviews
As one of the largest job posting sites, ZipRecruiter’s vast network of partner job sites, its talent pool, and its AI-powered tools put it at the top of our list as the best for large-scale recruiting.
ZipRecruiter is an aggregator that allows you to reach out to millions of qualified job seekers with a single click – an excellent resource for those who need to fill a lot of positions quickly. The platform matches the job with its applicant pool, which currently has 10 million people. The platform has access to 36 million resumes, with an average of 315,000 resumes added each month to its Resume Database.
Other features include integrating AI to further your reach and boost your recruitment efforts. ZipRecruiter is also noteworthy for its ability to add screening questions to your recruitment process. You can contact its customer support team through email, live chat, or phone. Another of ZipRecruiter’s standout features is that it’s mobile-friendly. Applicants can easily search for job openings on the go, and as the employer, you can review applications from any mobile device.
Among the free job posting sites we analyzed, Indeed stands out for its ease of use and recruitment search tools.
Indeed is one of the largest job posting sites we researched. It offers the option to post job listings for free. It’s easy to get started and post your first listing, and if you have the required info on hand, you can be up and running in minutes. If you’re a small business on a budget or have limited resources, Indeed is indeed a solid option.
One caveat: while Indeed is one of the largest free job boards that offer robust tools, its free listings don’t enjoy the same visibility as paid or sponsored listings do – and they aren’t up for as long. And while Indeed offers a mobile app that allows applicants to search for job opportunities and apply on their phones, it doesn’t currently offer the same convenience for recruiters.
LinkedIn’s recruitment tools and access to 900,000 job-hunting executives make it the top contender in the executive and upper management positions category.
If you’re hunting for senior-level talent with years of experience and a long list of professional accomplishments, LinkedIn’s suite of recruitment tools (such as its career pages, recruiter platform, and talent insights) will help you make well-informed choices.
While LinkedIn offers a number of tools and a large talent pool to help you find right candidates for executive roles, pricing for LinkedIn Recruitment is on the higher end among its competitors. And if you post a free ad instead of a promoted ad, your free ad will have limited visibility.
Handshake stood out in our Best for College Recruiting category because it’s one of the few platforms specifically designed for recruiting early talent.
Handshake takes the top spot in our Best for College Recruiting category for a number of reasons. Its sophisticated features help you recruit early talent and include a search tool that lets you filter based on 20 data points. Plus, you can look for talent at over 1,4000 schools.
Other features which aren’t commonly found on other job posting sites include novel ways via social networking to engage and build relationships with college student candidates. You can also create customizable and automated campaigns, create a virtual ambassador program and host group events.
While the standard tier is free, if you want to tap into Handshake’s premium features, expect to pay an annual fee that hovers around $10,000. Plus, in order to reach out directly to collegiate candidates, you’ll need to get the green light from each school individually. While that process may seem cumbersome, it could be viewed as one of Handshake’s strengths; the vetting process gives it the kind of credibility that other sites may lack.
Among online job sites that cater to creative professionals, Dribble stands out against the competition for the large number of designers in its database and its ease of use.
When you’re looking for full-time or freelance help with creative projects for your small business, it can be tough to find qualified candidates — especially when you’re short on time. Whether you’re looking for talent for a one-off freelance project, ongoing services for design tasks, or a full-time creative role at your company, Dribble’s tools and database can help simplify the process.
Dribble’s noteworthy features include an average of 1,500 targeted clicks (or clicks geared to a specific audience or demographic) per month on a listing. You can also search for a designer through Dribble’s database, which includes over 10,000 seasoned pros. Other options include listing freelance jobs exclusively or focusing on full-time roles.
While Dribble is the top platform for scouting designers and creatives, the Premium tier comes with a steep price tag and starts at $349 per month for access to its hiring search tool, and $549 a month to post job listings and use its search tool.
While not a job posting site, Glassdoor is an important part of the recruitment process. It gives employers a powerful way to showcase their company and enhance their brand.
Glassdoor enables hiring managers to create a company profile that includes your locations, why candidates should work for you, and any awards your business has received. Plus, Glassdoor offers multimedia tools such as the ability to upload vibrant visuals, photos and videos to help potential candidates gain a fuller picture of your business and bolster your brand.
It’s free to create an employer account, but your profile needs to be approved. Once you’re in, you can track and respond to company reviews and share your company page on Indeed’s network, which can expand your reach.
Snagajob took the top spot for hourly work because of its focus on the service industry and part-time positions.
Snagajob stood out among contenders in this category due to its sheer number of job seekers (currently more than 6 million) for service industry positions and its ability to create a job listing in five minutes. You can create postings for shifts that need to be covered, which can help you fill last-minute slots during peak seasons and times of year for your business.
As Snagajob is geared toward service industry workers looking for part-time gigs, it isn’t a platform for full-time positions. But if you consistently need to fill part-time roles or hire seasonally, Snagajob makes it easy and fast to do so.
Other Companies We Considered
In our research, we found that the majority of online job boards offer similar, if not identical, services. To avoid redundancy in our top picks, we didn’t include job boards that were too similar or were already picked up by larger aggregator sites, such as Zip Recruiter or Indeed. Others didn’t make it because they offer less visibility or don’t feature competitive recruiting tools. Still, these other companies are worth a look.
