No, they're not comic book villains. They're South Florida's newest spectacular water slides.
The Tidal Cove water park is in the finishing touches at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura.
It will open in the first quarter of this year and will be available only to those staying at the hotel. Room rates start at $529, plus a club membership that starts at $75 for a day of access to services and social activities.

The park will feature these slides: The Constrictor, a 558-foot slide; Master Blaster, a 486-foot slide; Boomerango, a 377-foot slide; Whizzard, a 266-foot racer slide; and two Aqua Drop body slides at 348 feet and 286 feet.
The water park expansion adds to the destination's existing facilities, which include a beach-entry style pool and a lazy river that winds through a one-eighth mile of tropical foliage.
South Florida has few water park options, which includes Grapeland Water Park in Miami.
Rapids Water Park, a 30-acre attraction in Palm Beach County, is South Florida's largest.
A plan to bring a Wet 'n' Wild to Fort Lauderdale near Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport failed last fall.
Meanwhile, Great Wolf Lodge, a nationally known chain of indoor water park resorts, is considering opening its first spot in Florida – and one of the possibilities is Pompano Beach.
