Tis the season for making cookies and other sweet treats. This week, we'll share recipes for goodies you could add to your holiday baking list. This much-shared sweet-n-salty recipe comes from an old issue of People magazine and is unbelievably good for something made chiefly out of saltine crackers.
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 sticks of butter

1 sleeve of saltine crackers
Bag of milk chocolate chips (or butterscotch if you prefer)
Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans) to sprinkle on top
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
On a parchment paper lined baking sheet, line up the saltines in one layer with the crackers touching.
Melt the brown sugar and butter in a sauce pan. Cook for three minutes stirring constantly.
Pour the brown sugar mixture over the crackers, making sure all crackers are covered.
Bake for approximately 15 minutes. (Be careful not to let the brown sugar mixture get too dark in the oven--it should be golden brown)
Take the baking sheet out of the oven. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the crackers and spread the chocolate over all the crackers. (If desired, return to the oven for a minute to help chocolate melt faster.)
Sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Refrigerate one hour. Break bark in small pieces.
