Modesto dancer to be in London parade

Emily Covolo from Central Catholic High School is one of 107 high school dancers from across the United States who will be performing in the world-famous London New Year’s Day Parade. The individuals awarded the scholarship to perform in the parade qualified for the trip after being selected as an All American through a rigorous audition process at one of the summer camps hosted by Universal Dance Association (UDA).

All Americans are selected based on superior dance skills at camps across the country. Emily will be joined by an additional 500 cheerleaders who were selected through an audition process hosted by sister organizations Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), United Spirit Association (USA). Only the top 7 percent of dancers who attend varsity summer camps earn the chance to dance in the holiday spectacular, according to a news release. The All Americans will have the chance to tour London during their seven-day trip.
