Modesto's Tyler Sereno-Gasser, 15, has been awarded his Eagle badge, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
Tyler, son of Debbie Sereno, is a member of Troop 3, sponsored by Our Lady of Fatima Church.
He started Scouting when he was 6, in the first grade.
Tyler is a freshman at Downey High School and is a member of the freshman basketball team.
He is also a member of the Renaissance program and has had perfect attendance at school.
For his Eagle project, Tyler landscaped the front yard and both sides of the driveway at a Habitat for Humanity house in Turlock.
There were 18 adults and 15 Scouts from Troop 3 involved in the project, which included clearing weeds; leveling dirt; trenching for the sprinkler system; laying out sprinklers and installing timers; planting trees, bushes and flowers; and laying sod.
