Scouts Honor: New Web Site Launched

The Girl Scouts Heart of Central California has launched a new Web site for teen girls. The Web site -- -- has interactive activities and teen news including scholarship information, event information, photo gallery and links to girl friendly resources. The site was developed by a committee of girls between the ages of 15-17 years old.

"We wanted to create a site that had useful information for us (girls)," said Sara Kewin, one of the site creators.

Some of the regular sections include Most Embarrassing Teen Moments, Fashion Insights and Destinations - Tips for Teen Travel. The Web site committee will meet monthly to keep information timely. All girls, regardless if they are currently registered Girl Scouts, are invited to visit the Web site. Girl Scouts Heart of Central California serves more than 29,000 girls in 18 counties including Stanislaus. The council was formed in June 2007 after a merger between Girl Scouts Muir Trail Council and Girl Scouts Tierra del Oro.
