A weekly glance at the many programs for children and adults offered by the Stanislaus County Library system’s 13 branches. Some programs are ongoing, others are special events and all are free and open to the public:

KNITTING AND CROCHET CLASSES ▪  Ongoing

Knitting and crocheting help for beginners or those needing help with a special project. 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Waterford Library, 324 E St., 209-874-2191.

ESTATE PLANNING SEMINARS ▪  Through Tuesday

Attorney Julie Richardson will review the basics of estate planning, wills and family trusts, including a discussion of all of the documents you need, plus other issues to consider. GET GOOSEBUMPS ▪  Through Oct. 31

VETERAN GRATITUDE LETTERS ▪  Through Nov. 25

The Hughson Library will collect thank-you letters to veterans. Community members may bring in completed letters or write them in the library. All letters will be forwarded to Operation Gratitude. Library hours. Hughson Library, 2412 Third St., Suite A. 209-883-2293.

CREEPY CRAWLY PERLER BEADS ▪  Today

Create creepy crawly shapes with plastic Perler beads and have the library melt them for you. 3:30-5 p.m., Modesto Library, 1500 I St., 209-558-7810.

LOLLIPOP SPIDERS ▪  Tuesday

LEGO DAY ▪  Tuesday

HALLOWEEN PARADE ▪  Wednesday

LEGO PLAY ▪  Wednesday

KIDS’ BOOK CLUB ▪  Wednesday

HOW TO BECOME A U.S. CITIZEN ▪  Wednesday

Bilingual program to help those interested in becoming U.S. citizens and to learn about the requirements to be eligible and the application process. 6 p.m., Patterson Library, 46 N. Salado, 209-892-6473.

ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAM ▪  Wednesday

A crime prevention specialist from the Turlock Police Department will present an anti-bullying program for parents and their children. 4 p.m., Turlock Library, 550 Minaret Ave., 209-664-8100.

HALLOWEEN PRESCHOOL STORY TIME ▪  Thursday

Halloween-themed story time for preschoolers ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Children may wear non-scary costumes. A costume parade hosted by Friends of the Turlock Library will follow story time. 10 and 11 a.m., Turlock Library, 550 Minaret Ave., 209-664-8100.

M IS FOR MONSTER ▪  Thursday

SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION ▪  Thursday

GROSSOLOGY ▪  Thursday

Join us for a reading of “The Three Little Pigs” and a discussion of what makes a sturdy structure. Afterward, we will build structures out of a variety of materials and attempt to knock them down.
