Scholarship yard sale
The Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1455 E. Yosemite Ave., is holding its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today to raise funds for scholarships. The yard sale will feature a wide range of items, from toys to furniture as well as new and nearly new women’s clothing, many in plus sizes. Donations are welcome. Free emissions tests
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District plans free emissions testing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the 11th Street parking lot of the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The first 525 vehicle-owners that qualify will receive a $500 voucher for repairs at participating smog shops. Organizers estimate a two-hour wait.
