Police: Angry man fires gun at road

Police responded to a call of shots fired Tuesday evening after a man allegedly discharged a firearm during an argument with another person.

The incident was reported at 9:47 p.m. in the 600 block of Gateway Drive in Merced, according to police.

At the scene, police learned that an argument between a man and a 27-year-old woman happened in the middle of the road. The man fired a gun directly into the road during the argument, police said. The woman was not hurt.

Police said they have identified the suspect but are not releasing his name, pending the outcome of the investigation.
