A small forest fire in the same area as 2008's massive Telegraph Fire has been contained by Cal Fire firefighters.
The Whitlock fire burned 69 acres in the area of Telegraph Road at Sherlock Road, about 7 miles north of Mariposa. Cal Fire sent 148 firefighters, 18 engines, three water tenders, two bulldozers, five air tankers and three helicopters to fight the blaze.
A press release said that access to the fire was a problem because of poor road conditions in the area. Cal Fire said two minor injuries resulted from the fire.
The fire, which is still listed as being under investigation, was contained Sunday evening.
The Telegraph fire in 2008 burned 34,000 acres and resulted in millions of dollars of property damage.
