Agents with the Merced Multi-Agency Gang Task Force arrested four documented gang members Friday while conducting probation compliance checks in Merced.
Those arrested include Joseph Herrera, 20, on probation for selling narcotics. Herrera was taken into custody at a home in the 3200 block of Cheyenne Drive. He was booked on suspicion of possessing a sawed-off shotgun, felony child endangerment, being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to Agent Shane Kensey.
Kensey said agents located the shotgun in a broiler portion of the kitchen stove, which could have been accessed by children in the home.
Other arrests included Emilio Manzo, 18, arrested at a residence in the 900 block of D Street for a no-bail juvenile warrant. Alfredo Samano, 22, was arrested at a residence in the 400 block of Las Brisas Court, on probation for felony drug possession. Benito Aguirre, 18, was arrested at a residence in the 100 block of 20th Street for a felony drug warrant.
