DELHI -- A 43-year-old parolee was arrested this week on suspicion of stealing copper wire from Foster Farms' Collier Road site near Delhi.
Troy Lance Boutelle of Modesto was taken into custody after an investigation by Deputy Aaron McKnight and the sheriff's AG-STAR team.
Detectives said company security cameras captured the suspect entering the property with his SUV and taking three spools of copper wire. The suspect allegedly took the spools of wire, cut them up and sold them to a Turlock recycling plant.
When the investigation led to Boutelle, he was contacted by McKnight and admitted committing the thefts. Foster Farms estimated each copper wire spool was valued at $1,500.
Boutelle was booked into the Merced County jail on suspicion of grand theft and violation of parole.
