RIPON -- Second-seeded Ripon Christian showed why its a favorite to win a Sac-Joaquin Section Division V banner Wednesday.
Stone Ridge Christian showed it still has room to grow.
Ripon Christian jumped out to an early first-half lead and cruised to a 66-31 victory over No. 15 Stone Ridge Christian in their playoff opener.

"(RC) is the favorite to win section," Stone Ridge Christian head coach John Flanagan said. "We played them a few years ago and lost by 50, so we were just hoping to stay within 30 or so.
"I thought our guys did really good. We thought if we could shoot better, we could stay in it. We shot 33 percent in the first half."
Ripon Christian (6-4 Trans Valley League, 20-6) jumped out to a 15-5 lead after the first eight minutes. RC led 32-13 heading into the locker rooms.
Chaim Beardsley led Stone Ridge Christian with a team-high 12 points, while Tim Whitmyre finished with nine.
